E-Safety

Equals Trust recognises the importance of an ever changing digital environment and as such we promote a culture of digital safety and responsibility to all our pupils.

Digital Leaders - a regular e-magazine created by groups of children across our schools to promote e-safety and responsibility. Our Digital Leaders have been working hard over the last few months: collecting worries and popular app suggestions from classes, writing our half termly Digital Leaders magazine and helping pupils keep safe online!

Childnet International - Childnet’s mission is to work in partnership with others around the world to help make the internet a great and safe place for children.

Digizen - The Digizen website provides information for educators, parents, carers, and young people. It is used to strengthen their awareness and understanding of what digital citizenship is and encourages users of technology to be and become responsible DIGItal citiZENS. It shares specific advice and resources on issues such as social networking and cyberbullying and how these relate to and affect their own and other people's online experiences and behaviours.

Share Aware - Share Aware gives parents all the tools they need to have regular and informed conversations with their child about staying safe online. Under 20% of parents discuss online safety regularly with their children but we want to get every family talking about their child’s life online, just as they would their day at school.

Parents can sign up to the Icebreaker email series and become an expert in their child’s online world in 6 weeks, follow the NSPCC's four simple steps to keeping kids safe online, watch their film ‘ Safety advice from a 10 year old’ or visit Net Aware – their guide to your child’s social networks apps and games.

The internet is a great place for kids to be, being Share Aware makes it safer.
