“Make Your Own Kind of Music” – Equals Trust Concert

On Wednesday 25th March, pupils from across the Equals Trust came together for a truly unforgettable music concert at the Albert Hall in Nottingham. With the inspiring theme “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” the event celebrated not only a wide range of musical genres but also the diversity of schools and communities within our trust.
All of the participating schools travelled in to Nottingham, where they spent the day rehearsing, learning new songs, and getting to know one another. Each school was paired with another from the trust, giving pupils the opportunity to collaborate and prepare a shared performance. It was wonderful to see new friendships forming as the children worked together towards the evening concert.
The repertoire was wonderfully varied, ranging from Yellow by Coldplay to the traditional Scarborough Fair and the upbeat classic 9 to 5. Each performance showcased the children’s hard work, enthusiasm, and growing confidence.
The highlight of the evening was hearing all 19 schools come together to sing as one massed choir. The sound filled the Albert Hall, creating an uplifting and spine-tingling atmosphere that truly raised the roof. It was a joyous celebration of music, unity, and creativity.
The concert left us all feeling incredibly proud to be part of such a fantastic trust. It was a powerful reminder of the strength of our shared community and the joy that music can bring when we come together.
